Wreck it Wednesday: Bean's First Page

Wreck it Wednesday: a page from one of my journals.

On Christmas day, I got a long hug and a genuine 'Thanks Mum, it's what I always wanted' when Bean opened a present to find it was his very own Wreck This Journal. Warmed me cockles it did.

The next day he decided to do his first page while I was distracted elsewhere. I vaguely heard him complain that he didn't drink coffee but I never would have expected what happened next. 

He threw a cup of milk over the whole page. Now I don't know if he thought it would show up at all, but I presume he just thought he'd follow the instructions with a small tweak; spill your favourite drink over this page.

Heaven knows what it'll look like in a few months...anyone know? Will it go mouldy or anything? Ah well.

I look forward to sharing more of his crazy with you.

I created a tree silhouette with sticky tape, but the paint bled through as it dried, so I repeated it in a slightly different colour (hence the two-tone effect) and I rather like the outcome.

Wreck it Wednesday: Hide This Page in a Neighbours Garden

Wreck it Wednesday: a page from one of my journals.

So, I didn't want to rip this page out, stash it in my neighbour's garden to retrieve it at a later date and stick it back in, mostly because I didn't want to go anywhere near my crazy neighbour's garden. I also didn't want to let the page go and just chuck it into a bush, so I improvised. I went through the estate agents ads and found a house for sale on my street...the rest is obvious.

Ripped it out, floated it, taped it back in.

 

When asked by a 6 year old what the hell I was doing, he of course insisted on joining in.

 

Almost impossible for me to read.

 

Ripped page out, wrapped Bean's foot in it, taped it back in.

 

Smushed some playdoh into the page, which made the pages completely stick together when it had dried.

 

I obviously wasn't feeling flexible enough to do my own feet haha

Wreck it Wednesday: The 2 minute pages in 'Wreck This Journal' Part 1

Wreck it Wednesday: a page from one of my journals.

I attempted to fill in the page numbers in order of page completion, but I didn't start it until I'd done enough pages to forget what order I'd done them and got confused.

And after my fun with collecting the letter 'W', thought I'd add lots of numbers too, which were almost stuck in in numerical order until I decided to stop being so freakin anal.

My shoes weren't muddy enough.

Much harder than you think it'll be.

With a kitchen knife.

Ripped it up, and as the next page instructed me to glue it to the last page, I simply stuck the ripped bits back down.

Giant paperclip, a piece of lego and my ukulele strings.

Ripped it out, crumpled it up, taped it back in.

Made the airplane, threw it across the living room, taped it back in.

Wrapped a random toy up, gave it to Bean to unwrap, taped it back in.

Includes dentist trip stickers.

Paper chain.

I used mud from a houseplant.

I used this page to give the boy's pen drawer a clear out.

So it turns out sewing a page that is still attached to a book is a freakin nightmare. I just stitched in some applique stuff I had in my stash.
